The November Parents' Café was held in collaboration with Schola Empirica, who came to introduce the Skills Builder programme to the parents of our pupils.

We have shown that the soft skills we develop with our students through the programme will be useful anytime and anywhere.

Parents with technical, humanities and economic backgrounds commented on wherever they use such skills in their work and daily lives. So, of course, they were pleased that we are also focusing on these areas with the pupils. In addition to the discussion, the parents tried an activity called "Silver lining" with the lecturers - they had to reframe an unpleasant experience into something more pleasant, because "every cloud has a silver lining".

We reflected, we had fun, we shared - and by the way, it was a practice of the skill of positive adjustment. Why did we invite Schola Empirica? Because we want parents to understand what their children will tell them about at home when they recount their experiences at school. And also because some of the challenges of Skills Builder can translate beyond the walls of the school. So we're looking forward to seeing what we can all experience together.
